This adapter will actively convert a HDMI Signal to a Displayport signal. Source / PC / Laptop / Macbook needs to be HDMI and Display / Screen needs to be Displayport (or Mini-Displayport if a DP to mini-DP Cable used). It functions ONE WAY Only from HDMI as Input to DP as output.
