This Network to RS232/RS433/RS485 Converter will break the limitations of connecting a PC / Laptop / Raspberry PI etc via a standard Serial Cable / RS232 DB9 cable or RS485 Cable to your device to be configured or monitored. It can connect for UNLIMITED Distances over an IP network and control your host device which has RS232 / RS433 or RS485 Interfaces over a network or even over the internet if router port forwarding configured correctly.

Default Settings:

• ID: admin (ALL Lowercase)
• PW: system (ALL Lowercase)
• Default IP Address: 192.168.2.1

Load Default:

• Power down, press and hold load default button
• Then Power on ,and hold the button up 10 seconds and release it

Add IP Subnet to your PC to be on 192.168.2.x network to configure device. Device and PC for configuration must be on the same network IP range.

Connect to Device IP 192.168.2.1 on any browser such as Chrome or Microsft Edge, Firefox etc and Login with user: admin and pwd: system

Change IP Address to a Preferred IP address on your network or DHCP for Automatic IP and setup Gateway to Internet Router IP

Please set COM Port Baud Rate Settings as per your device config and set to RS232, RS422 or RS485 Mode in the Settings below

Pylontech Batteries RJ45 CONSOLE Port for Monitoring will only work on 115200 Baud Rate and must be set EXACTLY as below. Other batteries may differ e.g RJ11 Ports may be 1200 or whichever setting manufacturer of device to be programmed or be monitored recommends.

To Connect from a Windows PC to the Converter ENSURE Port number is correct as below and configured and Device is set to SERVER Mode.

If Connection was successful a Virtual Com Port over Network will be visible in Windows Device Manager as below. If Connection fails please check your firewall settings for the VCOM App, Check Port number correct on Connection and ensure device in Server Mode.

We can now monitor or program e.g Solar Batteries, Inverter, Managed Network Switch, Firewall, PLC, Access Controller etc over a Network connection which provides unlimited distances without the Serial DB9 or RS485 Cable Limitations. Any RS232, RS422 or RS485 Device will work with this device over a network connection.

NOTE!! When in Client Mode (2 Ethernet to RS232/RS485 Connected to each other via network) as per Image below the IP address of the SERVER Device needs to be set on the device configured as a Client
