Use this USB 3.0 to Serial ATA (SATA) Cable to connect any 2.5″ harddrive directly to USB without the need of an external HDD Enclosure. Power is provided by the 2 x USB ports on the Cable. On Motherboards providing more than 500Ah power via the USB Ports, larger drives can be powered e.g 3.5″ Drives and DVD/Blu-ray Writers but have not been tested.
