1.8 Meter 8K Displayport 2.1 Cable Male to Male – 8k Displayport Cable 7680 x 4320 Resolution
DisplayPort 2.1 introduces three different bit rates per lane over four lanes, including 10Gbps, 13.5Gbps, and 20Gbps. This means that DP 2.0 can in theory triple its max link bandwidth up to 80 Gbps. However, at this time, VESA is focusing on creating passive cables supporting UBHR 10 (Ultra High Bit Rate), delivering a total of up to 40 Gbps. By increasing the bandwidth to this length, it is stated by VESA, that “DP 2.1 is the first standard to support 8K resolution (7680 x 4320) at 60 Hz refresh rate with full-color 4:4:4 resolution, including with 30 bits per pixel (bpp) for HDR-10 support.
DisplayPort 2.1 is quite the jump from DisplayPort 1.4a. 4K HDR resolutions now get boosted to a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, and the maximum possible resolution for a single display is 8K (7680 x 4320) at 60Hz.
Specifications
High Performance DisplayPort cable. These cables have pure copper conductors, and shielding from EM and RF interference. DisplayPort is based on a micro packet data transmission protocol that allows for feature additions in the future.
DisplayPort is a digital video and audio connection standard designed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). It is a royalty-free technology designed primarily for the computer industry but also compatible for home theater application. The format supports both digital video and audio using a single cable.
DisplayPort was primarily designed as a replacement for VGA, DVI and LVDS which are common interfaces used in the computer / IT industries, while HDMI was developed by the Consumer Electronics Industry specifically for Home Theater applications. Toward this end, DisplayPort has certain enhanced features such as direct drive monitor design and single cable multi-function monitor connectivity. Some advantages of HDMI are the ability to support xvYCC color, Dolby TrueHD and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) signals.
Though both share powerfull A/V features, DisplayPort was designed to complement HDMI, not to replace it.
