This adapter allows a standard VGA (DSub / 15 Pin) monitor / display to be connected via a standard USB 2.0 / 3.0 connection. The USB 3.0 interface provide better performance compared to USB 2.0.  The adapter functions as an additional graphics card and can be setup accordingly.

No power is needed – power is provided by USB. No fan – solution is very low power and completely silent.

The virtual USB graphics driver extends or mirrors your desktop, drivers can be found as below:

Displays are configured using the standard Windows display control panels and driver must be updated via Windows Device Manager.

When adapter connect to the Windows PC USB 3.0 Port the device will show as below in Windows Device Manager. Unzip the driver above and Right Click the “msusb device” and click update driver to browse and search for the driver in the downloaded driver folder.

Please ensure all other drivers such as FL2000 drivers are uninstalled otherwise resolution options may be limited to 800 x 600 due to driver conflicts

When the Driver is successfully installed it will be shown in Windows Device manager as below:

Analogue VGA connections support up to 1600×1200. All standard monitor modes up to the maximum resolution can be set by the device.

1. No Hubs!  USB hubs provide more ports but can’t increase the amount of data a USB port can send.
2. If your system has more than one USB 3.0 Host controller, connect one  adapter to each controller.  You can also try adding an additional PCIe to USB 3.0 adapter card to your system as an additional controller.
3. Lowering the resolution of the monitors also lowers the amount of data needed.
4. Change the Windows Power Plan to “High Performance”.  Modern computers try very hard to save power.  Sometimes they try too hard and this can effect how much data they can send over USB.

This USB Type-C to VGA (D-Sub / HD15) Adapter lets you output Analogue video signals from USB 3.1 Type-C equipped Macbooks. The adapter also supports some Windows PC’s for video output via USB 3.1 such as Lenovo and Dell. Please check with the Laptop/PC manufacturer first that the USB 3.1 port supports Alternate Displayport or Video output via USB 3.1, some motherboards do not support this function. For some Macbook’s if video is distorted or not displayed please check security settings in the bios. Change the thunderbolt 3 security settings in Bios for Macbook if any compatibility issues.

Displayport Alt Mode Video OR Thunderbolt 3/4 via USB C needs to be supported by the Laptop or PC Motherboard Manufacturer. Please see below the indication to check if your USB C Port is capable of video output. You can also confirm this with your laptop supplier. Not Any USB C Port will support video output via the USB C port.
